So, in my photography class they’re having us use Manual shooting mode on our cameras, which forces you to adjust both shutter speed and aperture value to get a good exposure.  I’ve never used pure manual before, always letting the camera choose the aperture value if a certain shutter speed was needed.  But after practicing with it a bit, I’m definitely seeing the merit.  Having that much control, and needing to constantly adjust one value or the other to get a correct exposure, is a great way to learn the ins and outs of the camera.
Anyway, this picture is just one of the practice pictures I took that turned out well.  I’ll post more technically about aperture and shutter speed, along with other topics, later.  But for now, I need to get ready for class.
